Aluminum Coat Hooks
Aluminum coat hooks are available in many contemporary designs. They are relatively inexpensive, quite strong, impressively durable, and many are rather good looking. The variety of designs mean you'll likely find several you like.
It's an easy material to work: the manufacturer creates a mold and simply pours in molten aluminum. The final step is to polish it to the desired finish. But aluminum itself has other noteworthy qualities.
An aluminum coat hook is rust resistant and can be used in all wet environments except salt water. For salt water environments, stick to stainless steel.
Folks sometimes have concerns about aluminum's strength. "Will it hold a backpack?" Don't worry, these coat hooks are lightweight, but not flimsy. In fact, the majority of the heavy duty coat hooks are made of aluminum. Remember, airplanes are built of aluminum. When you consider the aluminum alloys used in these coat hooks, think airplane quality, not soda can.
